“I have a dream”
a gentleman said
“A tryst with destiny” the other declared.

Two leaders of the century past,
showing their countries a new path.

What would they say 
To the the world of today
The divisions the strife 
The wars, the hate?

If the World they envisioned had come to be,
of dignity
freedom
of equality.

Where would we, as humans, be right now?
What marvelous new ways of life would we have found?

‘Ifs’ don’t matter
I know it is so,
But I hope someday it will be true.
