This fabled land

These are a collection of photographs from two visits to Cambodia. Once was not enough, but twice is not enough either!
The highlight of both trips was naturally the Angkor Wat Complex. The early 12th century temple city appears almost like a mirage. Like you’ve chanced upon a mesmerising, fabulous other world. A world of elaborate carved buildings, lived in today not by men but tall sky-touching trees and vivid lush green.
The temples of Angkor have to be experienced to be believed. Also the wonder, if architecture was so highly refined in those times, what glory must the other art forms, the culture have had.
Photographs are from the Angkor Archaeological Park, Banteay Srey and the Banteay Srey Butterfly Centre and also a few in and around Siem Reap city.

On the Tonlé Sap, southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake and down the Tonlé Sap River to Phnom Penh.

Some vibes from Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital city.

And finally the beautiful waters on Koh Rong island in the Gulf of Thailand and a really cute Tokay gecko.
