Tales of Cranes

As autumn draws close in eastern Hungary, the fields in the 'Puszta', Europe's largest semi-natural grasslands are harvested.

It's a beautiful golden time. A time of plenty before the winter sets in.

Gathering for the harvest, also come the Cranes. Thousands from across northern Europe, all the way from Russia, Finland and Sweden. An ancient stop on their way south to Portugal, Spain and northern Africa.

This is a story of the Cranes and other birds spotted over a lovely weekend at Hortobágyi Nemzeti Park.
