Words from the full moon
The full moon peeks in through my window
Autumn moons are always special
But today it seems even more so
Bigger.
Brighter, as say the commercials.
The full moon peeks in through my window
Sailing on a clear sky.
Soft pink strands of clouds frame it gently
Colours of the sunset’s last light.
The full moon peeks in through my window
As it peeks down on our whole planet
It sees me sitting on my computer
Writing this, an ode to it.
What else does it see
as it sails past?
Lives in joy and lives in sorrow.
War and hunger stake many-a’land.
‘Please bring them peace’
My prayer, as yet unanswered.
The full moon peeps in through my window
Patience and faith it seems to whisper
and it glows a special secret smile.
As it sees me sitting on my computer
Writing this, an ode to it.
